10. Embracing the dragon (10/12)

I am here. I’m in the inner cave. Home of the dragon. The big, scary dragon. It is time to confront him. But this time, I will not fight him. I will do this in another way. I am scared, but I am confident. I know now what and who I am. It is time. The dragon appears in front of me. He is enormous; he spits fire everywhere. He is angry; he is violent.

Before I can say something, he attacks me with his fire. I am scared, but I stand tall, and I have faith in what I’ve learned. I stand still. It seems his fire does not affect me. I am a bit shocked by that, but something inside me tells me, no, it cannot hurt you. It’s ok. The dragon seems to be shocked. I look into his eyes. He is scared, he is angry, and he is in pain. I talk to him. I tell him it’s ok; I don’t want to harm him. I would like to help if I can. The dragon seems amazed by my words. He looks at me and decides to speak to me. He tells me about his wounds and the way he was always misunderstood. I tell him it’s ok, I think I can help. My hands start to become full of blue energy. I ask him if I can try and heal him. He looks at me with pain and fear in his eyes. He decides to trust me. He says yes. I put my hand on his heart, and I see how the energy flows into him. I see how his wounds are healing and how he becomes whole again. He looks at me, and he thanks me. He wants to show me his most precious treasure.

It is the “elixir of life”; it is what I have always searched for. He wants me to have it now. I start crying. If there was any doubt left in me about the new way of being, now it is gone. I know now. This is my way. I thank him for the gift, and before leaving, I turn to him and embrace him. Something happens: He transforms into a ball of energy and becomes one with me. The dragon was me all along. I was him, and he was me. The elixir was always within my reach.
