I was born and raised in Călărași. A small city in the south part of Romania. I was a very shy kid. I am still pretty shy. I was also a wild kid; I’ve used to live a lot in the wild, in the forests. My father has been a beekeeper, and that meant that 3 to 4 months a year I was spending my time around the forest, the bees, and the wild. “No phone, no pool, no pets, no cigarettes. Ultimate freedom.” School and other kids were very strange to me; I couldn’t really understand and relate to them, and also being a bit wild and shy didn’t really help. I suppose I was a bit weird to them too. So I’ve started to observe them more, trying to understand them. My free time was usually spent indoors, watching cartoons, playing with tools, and constructing different things from wood. In my teens, I’ve discovered music, especially guitar. I’ve then realized that I can just play music and truly express what I’ve felt, and that there is no need for me to speak. I could play my guitar and be seen, heard, and understood without the need for words. It was my way of connecting, of relating to other people, and even to the Universe: To truly express how I felt. To express that, which was beyond mind and words, I’ve become fascinated by that.
